Video games, unlike any other (medium), presents us with a sense of endless possibility. — Justin Davis, Cohost of Games Scoop! on IGN
We all have our hobbies and methods of escaping life’s many trials. After a long day at the office or rushing to meet societies many deadlines, it’s a nice change of pace to unwind and plug-in to whatever world we want to. If today’s modern zeitgeist is any indication, gaming is one of, if not the most popular form of entertainment we enjoy on a daily basis.
It is also a great way to connect with people and start up lasting friendships when starting at a new school, walking into a new job or keeping up with past friends. I have had many interesting conversations with long lost friends about what they are playing, what they’re looking forward to and tips and tricks regarding the games we’re having trouble with. It’s almost like we had seen each other every day despite the many years of separation!
As a new father, I also look forward to sharing my gaming experiences with my daughter. Gaming can be a great way to bond and connect among families. Spouses, siblings, parents, grandparents and kids can all share a fun experience in a virtual world! Whether that’s lobbing a red turtle shell at your wife on the final lap in Mario Kart or building a Disney castle with your daughter in Minecraft, you can have a meaningful moment in just about any game!
This blog was set up as a hub for all gamers to come and discuss the many joys that can come from gaming. Previews, reviews and family/multiplayer gaming sessions and ideas will all be up for discussion on this site as well. I hope this sparks some new interests in gaming you may not have thought to pursue otherwise. Let me know what I am missing!
